My name is Ania Telfer. I was born in Tkaronto (Toronto) to Polish parents and now reside in amiskwacîwâskahikan (Edmonton). I graduated with a Master of Counselling from City University of Seattle and will soon be a provisionally registered psychologist and certified Canadian counsellor. I hold a graduate certificate in Spiritually Focused Expressive Arts from St. Stephen's College and a BA in Communications from Concordia University.
I specialize in utilizing evidence-based creative modalities, such as expressive arts, mindfulness, and somatic therapies, to foster healing and self-discovery. My approach is holistic, compassionate, and client-centered, creating a safe space for transformation.
I have a special interest in veteran populations and military trauma. My graduate research focus was on moral injury in military populations and how art therapy can contribute to healing. With over two decades of arts-based learning experience, and a comprehensive understanding of research, I integrate creative practices to promote emotional resilience and well-being.
I speak several languages and have traveled and worked across Europe and Asia. Outside of work, I enjoy yoga, a cozy cup of tea, creating art, and spending time in nature. I love water and horses and am currently involved in training a very cute service dog.
